Amelia (2009)

I had very high hopes when I watched this trailer months ago, but after I started watching this I was very disappointed. Mostly due to the fact of how much this movie dragged on, I actually could have walked away and came back in like a half hour and it not really matter what I missed. Yes, we all know who Amelia Earhart is, but I know I didn’t know the whole story so that’s what grabbed my attention. The thing that made the story drag was that it focused more on the romances than what she actually did for the world. Yes we did see what records she broke and it was interesting to know more about her than just that, but how it was written it just dragged on with the dialog. I think the best part of the movie is about the last 30 – 45 minutes. I mean we all might know how the story ends before we even watch it but I still loved the ending even if I didn’t love the movie as a whole. I mostly wanted to see this movie because I’m a fan of Hilary Swank and also Ewan McGregor, and when I saw the trailer it look like Hilary might be going up for another Oscar, but I was dead wrong.

I gave it a 40% only because of the actors, the ending and some of the earlier sequences were pretty good.
